Engage Conservation Africa's accomodation is set along the banks of the Limpopo River

Accommodation

Set along the grassy banks of the Limpopo River surrounded by beautiful ancient trees and the sounds of charismatic wildlife, our rondavel style accommodation will provide you with a comfortable and relaxing place to stay during your time with us. Hippo and crocodile sightings are frequent along the river, and you will be regularly visited by other local species such as bushbuck, baboon, genet cats and cheeky resident vervet monkeys. A number of bird species are present in camp including the African fish eagle, kingfishers, kites and a host of others. The evenings and early mornings are always accompanied by an incredible cacophony of sounds and calls, such as lion, leopard and hyena calling in the distance and the local elephant population making their presence known through crashing and trumpeting. Overall, our beautiful, unique camp will provide you with a comfortable authentic African experience that you won't forget.

Overlooking the river, our large open air communal and dining area provides a space for rest and relaxation during your down time. The area includes a covered dining and seating area, large fire and braai space, and a bar fully stocked with snacks and non-alcoholic drinks (alcohol is allowed but must be provided by guests themselves). This fantastic space next to the Limpopo will also be used for briefings, talks and data review during the evenings and lunchtime breaks. You will have access to our fully equipped indoor and outdoor kitchen facilities, with ample food storage and refrigeration available for use during your stay. We will provide 2 evening meals a week that will include traditional South African cooking (braai and potjie) and American BBQ style smoked food.  There will also be an open fire evening meal set out in the bush once per week as well as "sun downers" (enjoying a drink at sundown on one of the reserves Koppis overlooking the bush) on a regular basis.
